It is not true that eating fat automatically makes you fat as a lot of people think. What makes you fat is eating more calories than you burn off. The problem with fat is that it is very calorie dense which means that it doesn't take a lot of it for you to get a lot of calories. This is why most people gain weight when they eat fatty foods, if they eat enough to fill them up they will consume way too many calories because the fat has so many calories in it.

Finding low fat products these days is a fairly easy thing to do, almost anything that is low in fat will be prominently labeled as such. The food makers are well aware that people are looking for low fat foods and if what they sell qualifies they will make sure that you know.
